Button-Down

Remember the denim skirts everyone obsessed over in middle school? I vowed to never wear one again, but in a hilarious twist of fashion fate, they’re making a major comeback for fall.

The difference between 10 years ago and today? The high-waisted, button-front ‘70s spin that’s making this season’s version so much cooler. When American Eagle approached me about a fall styling collaboration—honored is an understatement!—the skirt below was my immediate pick.

I like the look with a shirt tucked in, and this black and white turtleneck (only $12.90!) was my minimalist take on the trend. I’m also wearing one of my top footwear picks for fall: these suede boots by 424 Fifth that would make a killer cold-weather staple.

Pantene Head-to-Head Hair Challenge

Now for a quick press update. Remember this Instagram? A few months back I was honored to serve as Glamour’s style ambassador for Pantene’s Head-to-Head Hair Challenge against two amazing ladies from Lucky and Teen Vogue. We each gave step-by-step tutorials on how to re-create our magazine’s take on a popular hair trend, and both videos are below.

The two styles I’m wearing are personal favorites (if you keep up with my blog, you know I’m all about garland braids and dramatic side parts). They’re also great in the summer when hair is damp from swimming or needs to be swept back for nights out. Enjoy!
