Nail polish is an essential element to any outfit, but it’s under-appreciated. To me, it’s as important as a great necklace or a set of stackable rings. I tend to choose one color that I can’t live without each season, and for spring, I’m obsessing over Sweet Heart by O.P.I.
Sweet Heart is the perfect pale pink—the color is soft, but eye-catching, and light, but not translucent. It has a mod matte finish that’s ridiculously cool, but unlike similar cloudy tones, it goes on evenly and doesn’t streak.
I love when a color can serve as a neutral—it’s much more exciting than something simple and clear—and Sweet Heart complements everything. My polish collection could rival that of any salon, and this shade has been on my nails for three weeks straight.
As a sidenote: I was quizzing a manicurist recently, and she recommended a nail strengthener by Duri called Rejuvacote. I was coming in after an especially over-buffed gel application, and she said Rejuvacote is the best thing she’s ever found to keep nails from breaking. It can pull double duty as a base and topcoat and should be applied once every two days over an existing manicure. I’ve been using it for the past two weeks, and it’s worked wonders.
