Like most lipstick lovers, I’m all about bold colors for spring and summer. My beauty routine gets minimized when the weather’s warm—who doesn’t love messy beach hair and barely there makeup?—but I’ll never pack for a weekend away without one or two bright lip pencils.
I spent time in Sephora scoping out their selection, and Bite Beauty won out with their limited-edition Matte Crème Lip Crayons. I wrote about this brand back in February and am the biggest fan of their products.
Two must-have Bite Beauty lip colors for spring and summer: Blood Orange (left) and Kumquat (right).
Blood Orange (left) and Kumquat (right) were the front-runners in Bite’s new, six-shade collection. I was on the hunt for a dynamic orange-y red and Barbie pink, and they were exactly what I wanted. The pointed shape allows for precise application and the high-pigment color stays put. The crayons also have a subtle citrus scent (they’re formulated with orange peel wax for a hydrating, matte finish).
My trick is to swipe on a thin layer of balm (I love mint EOS) before applying lipstick. Having a moisturized base keeps the color even and long-lasting.
I also highly recommend Bite’s Agave Lip Mask, an incredible leave-on treatment formulated with agave nectar and jojoba oil that will smooth and nourish your pout overnight.
I had to spotlight this Cross Over Ring Set from Nasty Gal. It reminded me of the Elizabeth and James X ring I featured last month, but with the set below, you get three pieces to pile on for 1/4 the cost.
Nasty Gal has fantastic stackable rings for affordable prices. Their Chronicle Ring Set is another favorite, and it’s worth checking out the rest of their spring selection here.
I can’t seem to collect enough rompers right now. They’re a one-stop shop, and on busy days, I rely the thoughtlessness of throwing one on. Whether you’re heading to a nice dinner, going to work or walking on the beach, they’re somehow appropriate for almost every occasion. I’ve been eyeing up bright, patterned versions for spring and summer, and Mara Hoffman’s design below is a favorite.
Chunky, low sandals are a staple in my closet, and I’ve been waiting to feature the blue Zara’s above. I’m obsessing over anything with a single strap (clearly) and love that this pair can act as an easy pop of color. As another option, the Madewell’s I featured previously are pretty great as well.
The sunglasses above retail for only $38, and the adorable mint bag is a mere $50 (bonus points because it has a crossbody strap). As always, click on each item above to shop. And Happy 18th Birthday to my beautiful little sister Molly!
