Nail polish is an essential element to any outfit, but it’s under-appreciated. To me, it’s as important as a great necklace or a set of stackable rings. I tend to choose one color that I can’t live without each season, and for spring, I’m obsessing over Sweet Heart by O.P.I.
Sweet Heart is the perfect pale pink—the color is soft, but eye-catching, and light, but not translucent. It has a mod matte finish that’s ridiculously cool, but unlike similar cloudy tones, it goes on evenly and doesn’t streak.
I love when a color can serve as a neutral—it’s much more exciting than something simple and clear—and Sweet Heart complements everything. My polish collection could rival that of any salon, and this shade has been on my nails for three weeks straight.
As a sidenote: I was quizzing a manicurist recently, and she recommended a nail strengthener by Duri called Rejuvacote. I was coming in after an especially over-buffed gel application, and she said Rejuvacote is the best thing she’s ever found to keep nails from breaking. It can pull double duty as a base and topcoat and should be applied once every two days over an existing manicure. I’ve been using it for the past two weeks, and it’s worked wonders.
For lack of a better word, I love a tiny gold necklace that says something. This style by Jennifer Zeuner is adorable, and I’m considering adding it to my collection to wear with the JZ sideways cross necklace I already own (featured last week and one of my favorite understated accessories of all time).
Jennifer Zeuner’s designs are a rare balance of style and durability. The pieces I own never break, bend or tarnish, and almost all of her necklaces come on a convenient, adjustable 15″/16″ chain. You’ll have lots of versatility with this brand when it comes to length if you’re obsessed with layering jewelry (like me!).
It’s impossible to choose a favorite item out of the six above. From the $24 sunglasses to the killer denim cutoffs, I’m drooling over everything. I will say that the cross-body bag bottom right caught my attention in a big way. I had one of those wide-eyed moments where I smiled and stared at my computer for about 10 seconds, which is always a sign that I really love something. It comes in four colors, including a perforated white that’s also adorable for spring. And how great is the shape of its zipper?
I’ve owned the sideways cross necklace top left for years, and it’s a rare day that I don’t wear it. It’s the necklace I would end up pairing with the sporty Alex Wang tee above, so I wanted to include it.
As always, click on each item directly to shop! Hooray for spring weekends!
