One of the many reasons I love fashion—besides the fact that it can directly impact your mood and mindset—is the hunt. I can scan an entire store in two minutes, rummage through a million racks and emerge victorious with a well-edited selection of special items that caught my eye. I’m proud of my ability to sniff stuff out no matter how crazy certain stores can be (I’m talking to you, Forever 21).
The most exciting? When I come across something that looks designer for a deal. Case-in-point: The Emperia satchel below. From the geometric shape to the hardware, it screams Alex Wang (check out his almost-identical Emile tote for $925 here) and costs only $48.
I’m all for splurging on an expensive item every now and then, but isn’t it fun when you can snag something that looks high-end for a steal?
I fell for the Topshop shift dress above because the color and shape make for a chic spring neutral. The faux-leather fabric adds a little bit of edge, and I love how the texture looks like a stormy sky.
With a muted outfit, I default to lipstick for a pop of color. NARS’ Heat Wave is a favorite; one of the most electric orange-y reds out there. Bite Beauty’s orange-y red is also amazing, and you can read about my obsession with this brand here.
Elizabeth and James is responsible for the eye-catching X ring and delicate studs above. They’re really stepping up their jewelry game, and you can check out the rest of their collection here.
Lastly, I had to include the Sarah Chloe initial pendant far left. People constantly ask where they can find an understated, reasonably priced initial necklace. In an accessory category that can cost in the high hundreds, this one is a great option at $98.

I’ve been in the market for slouchy, super distressed boyfriend jeans. Yes, I love my pair from the GAP (and the price is a steal), but I wanted something that looked shredded, stringy and I’ve-had-these-for-a-decade destructed. The answer came in One Teaspoon’s ‘Awesome’ Baggies. I’ve searched, and unless you’re willing to go all out with your own pair of scissors, nothing compares to their look.
One Teaspoon has a wide selection of denim washes, but I’m a huge fan of the ‘Cobain‘ wash pictured. It’s the perfect medium blue. For reference, their jeans fit just like a boyfriend should—low on the waist and loose—so they recommend ordering true to size.
I came across these Isabel Marant-esque sandals by Steve Madden and think they’d look amazing with the baggies above. If you’re short like me and prefer a slightly higher heel, these sandals are also worth checking out. Is it spring yet?
