I channel my inner Edie Sedgwick when I wear this faux fur coat (short bleached hair aside). It just calls for thick black liner and a matte nude lip. I purchased this piece for two reasons: I loved the light color, and it made me want to shut my eyes and spin around when I put it on. If you find that quality in a piece of clothing, don’t pass it up.

Remember that riddle every classmate asked you in elementary school: What’s black and white and read all over? You thought is was red, found out the answer is a newspaper then were annoyed you didn’t realize something so simple. That’s what this outfit reminds me of (the red being my lipstick).
I was laughing when I put it together thinking of the first-grade bully in Mrs. Briggs’ class who asked me that question, made me cry in front of everyone because I didn’t know the answer, then proceeded to interrogate me about what “a million bagillion” x 0 is. I said zero and (to the awe of my classmates) put that little shit in his place.
Getting back to the point of this post, I love this coat because it’s technically a neutral but it’s much more exciting. It also lends itself to mixing with other black and white items in different patterns and was the perfect excuse to sneak in one more crop top before it officially becomes too cold.
Zara zebra coat (similar style here), H&M textured pencil skirt (similar style here and here), American Apparel crop top, Elizabeth and James T-straps (similar style here), Moda Luxe Braxton clutch (similar style here), Catbird alphabet ring and pavé pinky ring (my own design).
Wearing NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. Come to think of it, this outfit is kind of Cruella de Vil-ish, no?
